Student Opportunities

Engaging beyond the classroom

Students in Classics have a wide variety of opportunities in which to engage with the Greco-Roman world outside of the classroom.  The student-led Classics Club and Eta Sigma Phi sponsor or co-sponsor numerous extra-curricular activities.  The Theodore Guerard Fund and local society of the Archaeological Institute of America support lectures of some of the leading scholars in the field.  Study abroad opportunities allow students to leave the beauty of Charleston for the sun-drenched shores of the Mediterranean or other locales.  Other opportunities provide students with the ability to engage in research, producing results worthy of publication and presentation at professional meetings.
