Classics Day

The Classics Department at the College of Charleston invites high school and middle school students from across the state to join us for Classics Day on November 10, 2018. This is a combined event with South Carolina Junior Classical League’s (SCJCL) Fall Forum and will feature presentations by members of the CofC faculty and visiting professors from USC-Columbia and Furman University. Campus tours and library tours will also available. We are going to have a whole lot of Classics fun!  

Registration is free for all students, teachers, and chaperones. The deadline to register is November 2CofC students interested in attending and/or assisting with Classics Day should e-mail Dr. Flores (floresso@cofc.edu) or Dr. Alwine (alwineat@cofc.edu).

Parking and Navigating

Those attending Classics Day are eligible for a special rate of $5 / day at the St. Philip’s Street garage. Enter the garage off St. Philip Street and pull a ticket. We will pass out vouchers at Classics Day, which you can redeem at the cashier’s booth when you exit. On Saturdays, there also a number of nearby lots that are free on a first-come, first-served basis. See this Map with several parking spots labeled. 

For navigating campus, members of CofC Classics Club will be stationed around campus between sessions to help guide you. You may also consult the CofC campus maps. On these maps, Randolph Hall is #44, Maybank Hall is #26, the Robert Scott Small Building is #23, the BellSouth Building is #8, and the School of Science and Math Building is is #11. (The St. Philip parking garage is also listed: #7 / PG.)
